Healing without money and without price

Does the earth not already provide everything our bodies need to be healed and made whole? Has God not designed our bodies to operate on discoverable and understandable principles? God uses nature and the parts and systems of our bodies in parables, teachings, and ordinances. If we’re promised health in the navel, marrow in the bones, and strength in the loins and sinews, then there are aspects of our bodies that are according to design.

We ingest and our bodies assimilate nutrients that become part of our composition. Down to how much detail do our bodies reflect truths that God wishes to convey to our minds?

In contrast to man’s science and medicine, God’s salvation must be available to all and not incur the cost or price that Babylon places upon its salvation. The Lord said to come and buy milk and honey without money and without price:

…I say unto you that the Lord God worketh not in darkness. He doeth not anything save it be for the benefit of the world; for he loveth the world, even that he layeth down his own life that he may draw all men unto him. Wherefore, he commandeth none that they shall not partake of his salvation….he saith: Come unto me all ye ends of the earth, buy milk and honey, without money and without price…. Hath he commanded any that they should not partake of his salvation? Behold I say unto you, Nay; but he hath given it free for all …all…are privileged the one like unto the other, and none are forbidden.” (2 Nep 26:23-28)

The science and medicine of Babylon does not say the same thing at all. It says, come unto me and partake of my healing, but it will cost you money.

And so, the salvation that the medicine of Babylon offers is not freely available to all.

If the Lord has some means of healing us of physical sickness that does not involve outright miracles, then what he offers must be freely available. Has He already provided the means? And if so, can the Lord show us where this exists?

Would there be a purpose in the Lord revealing this? To save us from the desolating scourge of our own making? To provide a means of nourishment, healing, and being made whole when (if) we are in Zion? To teach, through parable, that He is the True Healer and that he offers salvation freely to all?

…And there were some who died with fevers, which at some seasons of the year were very frequent in the land—but not so much so with fevers, because of the excellent qualities of the many plants and roots which God had prepared to remove the cause of diseases…” (Alma 46:40)
